'Chalk the Walk' greets Hamilton students with cheerful messages and drawings on September 19

Feel-good messages were there to provide a feel-good greeting to the Hamilton Primary School students on Monday morning, September 19.

Every September, the Hamilton Primary School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)  meets with their chalk and the members script messages and pictures on the sidewalk that leads into the front entrance of the school.

The tradition at the school is titled ‘Chalk the Walk.’

The school’s PTO Executive Board members joined together Sunday evening, September 18, to craft their creative and positive messages and drawings.

Eileen Welsh, the Hamilton Primary School PTO Co-President, was among the artists.

"On Behalf of the Hamilton PTO, we are excited to bring back the annual tradition of 'Chalk the Walk', which provides a positive, uplifting and creative opportunity for the PTO officers to welcome students and teachers back to a new school year,” she declared.

Hamilton Principal Tim Beaumont was as thrilled as the students when he arrived at the school building in the morning.

"Our students and staff were thrilled to see our sidewalks covered in welcoming messages this morning! We are so fortunate at Hamilton School to have a PTO that supports and encourages us in our mission of serving students each and every day. We look forward to this annual celebration of positivity every September,” Beaumont said.
