Students performed songs while their parents sat and enjoyed the acts when a Thanksgiving Festival was held on Monday, November 21, at the Hamilton Primary School.
One of the school’s second grade teachers, Amy MacMath, was the host of the annual event while her students performed on stage. The students sang and recited poetry.
According to Mrs. MacMath, her second graders have participated in a month-long campaign to "Save the Turkeys". Students disguised their turkeys and came up with persuasive slogans to convince people to eat something else on Thanksgiving,
Mrs. MacMath also revealed that the culminating activity was a presentation of songs and poems for their parents which conveyed all that they are grateful for during this season of thanks. The opening song was "Albuquerque the Turkey" in honor of their class "pet" also named Albuquerque the Turkey.
