A stroll around the playground on a cool but beautiful autumn morning provided plenty of feel-good results at the Hamilton Primary School.
Hamilton, under the coordination of the school’s Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), held its annual Walk-A-Thon on the morning of Wednesday, October 16.
Each grade walked during their allotted time slot around the playground lot while music was played by a DJ.
The event was directed by the Hamilton PTO Co-Presidents, Jackie Vincent and Colleen Kondorossy, and PTO Co-Vice President of Chairs, Vicky Marabondo.
“This is an event that our students can exercise and promote our community,” Ms. Vincent said while the students leisurely followed their routes. “The kids have fun and like to walk with their friends.”
Another sound purpose to this walk was shared by Ms. Vincent.
“The Walk-A-Thon raises money for the PTO,’ she revealed. “ Families can donate in any manner.”
Ms. Vincent reported that the Walk-A-Thon is expected to raise just over $3,000.
The PTO will use funds collected to sponsor numerous activities throughout the school year.
