At the beginning of this school year, Hamilton School reintroduced the "Hamilton Families" community-building program after a hiatus of several years. The purpose of Hamilton Families is for students to meet new friends across a range of grade levels and to build a network of trust, empathy, and shared experiences that help our Hamilton Tigers to grow as individuals and thrive as a school community.
Hamilton Families meet each month in groups of 12-14 students from across different grade levels with their assigned "family leader" teacher. Students complete engaging activities together, such as creating crafts centered around themes like gratitude or community.
Principal Beaumont commented, "Building vertical relationships within schools between students from different grade levels is a best-practice strategy for enhancing a positive school culture. It has been gratifying to see our students developing new friendships and learning together. We are looking forward to seeing the ongoing positive impact of our Hamilton Families!"
