The energy and enthusiasm were loud and clear–and so was the message
The students who attended the assembly at the Hamilton Primary School on Friday, March 21, participated with lively responses while music played and the staff members from Lead U stirred up the pot with exciting messages.
Lead U, which is associated with The Society for the Prevention of Teen Suicide, is based out of Freehold. According to its website. Lead U, is a positive group of teaching artists who creatively engage, educate and empower learners of all ages to find the leaders within themselves.
Lead u is a frequent visitor to schools throughout New Jersey as well as New York and as far as Florida.
On this Friday in March, the Director of Lead U, J.D. Wilson and his equally enthusiastic Program Manager, Connor Effenberger, and Crew Lead, Deidre Donovan, produced a high-energy presentation.
The Lead U staffers were joined by another jolt of energy in Patrick Blood, the Drama Club Advisor at the Hillside Intermediate School
The foursome got their message across to the Hamilton 3rd and 4th Graders when they delivered their inspired “Conflict Resolution” to the students and staff who assembled in the school’s gymnasium.
Their four topics were:
Please Stop
Ignore
Walk Away
Get Help
These strongly urged resolutions included some wise advice.
“You are surrounded by trusted adults, who are your teachers,” Mr. Wilson shared with his vibrant delivery.
Hamilton's younger students, Kindergarten through 2nd Grade, were also inspired during their assemblies with Lead U on that Friday, March 21.
“We are an energy company,” Mr. Wilson claimed after his workout that featured his prancing around the gym floor.
Lead U is no stranger to Hamilton—and there is a good chance they may return.
“It was a pleasure to welcome Lead U back to Hamilton Primary School for another high-energy, engaging visit,” said Hamilton principal Tim Beaumont. “Our students enjoyed learning about managing their emotions and resolving conflict in a fun, positive, and developmentally appropriate way. Thanks to our staff and PTO for facilitating the Lead U assemblies!”
