The 4th Grade students at the Hamilton Primary School experienced the business world.
On the morning of Friday, January 16, the 4th Graders transitioned from students to business owners and consumers during the annual Market Day held in the Hamilton classrooms.
The students sold their created items—paper money was exchanged- with their schoolmates and staff.
Stacie Griswold, Hamilton’s Elementary Teaching Specialist and Science Coordinator, explained the lesson learned.
“Our 4th Grade students have real-life experience with the principles of economics,” Ms. Griswold said. “ They spend time creating their products so they can encounter what it is like to be a producer and consumer. Their goods are creative and a great learning opportunity is had by all.”
