An award-winning author impressed upon the students at the Hamilton Primary School that they, too, can be fine writers.

Bob Shea spoke to the students on Monday, April 27, and told them that they all can achieve great things by writing and illustrating.

“I want them to know that they can make writing and drawing accessible and that they have the creativity to do so,” said Mr. Shea, an award-winning author and illustrator of favorite children’s books.

His titles include Chez Bob, the popular Ballet Cat series, The Dinosaur VS. … series, and the runaway smash hit Unicorn Thinks He’s Pretty Great, and he wrote Who Wet My Pants, illustrated by his friend Zach Ohora.

He has worked with Comedy Central, designed the green-head PBS Kids logo, developed an on-air character for Playhouse Disney, worked with Nick Jr., appeared on Noggin and The Sunny Side Up Show, and worked on a project at Google.

Meridith Bazilus, the Media Specialist at Hamilton, agreed with the author's message.

“He encouraged our students to find their passion, and they can do what he does,” Ms. Bazilus said.
