Please help Hamilton support The Food Bank Network of Somerset County! All Hamilton students, staff, and families are invited to donate cans of soup for our annual "Souper Bowl of Caring" from Monday, February 2nd, through Friday, February 6th. There will be two tables in the lobby of Hamilton School, one table will be labeled for the New England Patriots and the other table will be labeled for the Seattle Seahawks. Everyone is encouraged to put their can(s) of soup on the table of the team they want to win the Super Bowl. All donations will be delivered to The Food Bank Network of Somerset County at the conclusion of this event. Let’s see who wins the Hamilton Souper Bowl of Caring and help our community at the same time!

During the week of September 22nd, all current students in Grades 1 through 4 will take the Northwest Evaluation Association's (NWEA) Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) tests in mathematics and reading. The tests will be administered during the school day.
MAP is a computerized adaptive assessment that “tests each child differently by responding to how a student answers questions and adjusting the level of difficulty accordingly until a ‘ready to learn’ zone is determined.”
Teachers will use the individualized information from the MAP tests to plan instruction at the appropriate levels for students in their classes. The MAP assessments also serve as a universal screener for students who may be in need of additional instruction through the district’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).
All students will take these MAP tests again in the spring, thereby providing growth data to teachers for individuals and groups of students in their classes.
Any questions regarding the administration of MAP testing can be addressed by our school’s Interim Elementary Teaching Specialist, Alison Jandak. General information about MAP can be found at NWEA.org.
