
An octopus stands guard at the main entrance of Bridgewater-Raritan High School.
“He is Leonard the Claytopus,” revealed the creator of this ceramic sculpture, Lauren Yang, who will be a junior at the high school in September.
Lauren worked on this nine-piece sculpture in teacher Angela Morin’s Ceramics 2 class at the high school.
The idea to show off Leonard next to the steps that lead to the front door of the high school came from both Adam Leaman, an Assistant Principal, and Scott Bowerbank, who works on the grounds crew at the high school.




Max Newill was selected as the New Jersey State Baseball Coach of the Year after he guided Bridgewater-Raritan High School to the school's first Group 4 state championship this spring.
Bridgewater-Raritan also set a school record for victories with its 30-3 record and ended as No. 2 in the state's final rankings.

Four members of the Bridgewater-Raritan High School basketball program—-Aubrey Bartolotto, Justin Rondinone, Trent Blisset, and Johnny Magner were recipients of the Dan Grigal Scholarship. The scholarship is in honor of Dan Grigal, the beloved boys’ basketball coach and Physical Education Teacher at Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School, who lost his life after a battle with cancer in June of 2021.
